Vinyl Garage Door Construction
The Prelude 2 boasts a strong foundation with a double-sided steel core frame. The standard overall door thickness is 1 ⁷⁄₈”
The frame is clad in solid ½” vinyl facing with CNC routered designs, decorative panels, and optional window details. Our standard steel frame and insulation provides an R value of 7.8.
Prelude 2 Finishes and Colors
Prelude 2 is an unfinished, white cellular PVC door that doesn’t need to be painted. You can learn more about your finish options below.
- Standard vinyl-faced doors leave our factory unfinished.
- Any Prelude 2 door can be factory finished using a custom color of your choice with a light reflectance value LRV of 60 or above.
- Upgrade to TimberLife Tricoya® and select a factory-finished dark paint color with an LRV of 60 or less.

- Can be left unfinished or painted in light colors with a light reflectance value (LRV) higher than 60.
- Vinyl gets very hot and retains heat with sun exposure, which can create problems for darker paint colors.
